A wedding in the highlands: Nimfaio, Greece

Considering the time of the year, Demetris and Fotini chose a rather alternative setting for their summer wedding: the picturesque mountainous village of Nimfaio at Greece.

The celebrations started from early on at La Moara guesthouse, as large barbeque grills and a cocktail van were set up at the garden. Many of the guests threw themselves into a pre-party celebration by drinking, eating and dancing many hours before the ceremony. Besides, a good beginning makes a good ending!

At the same time, the couple were separately getting ready for the ceremony. Fotini had already gotten into her wedding dress with a little help from her friends and was taking care of the last details concerning her appearance. Too bad her shoes were a little too big for her feet! Her friends and relatives solved the problem by putting banknotes inside the shoes,
as determined by Greek tradition. At the other side of the building, Demetris had a rather rowdy dressing, full of joking and bromance rituals.

The next chapter of this wonderful mountain wedding was written at the traditional church of Agios Nikolaos. The faces of the couple sparkled as the priest crowned them and pronounced them husband and wife.

After a short photoshoot in front of the church and at the streets of Nimfaio, the bride and the groom returned to La Moara for the wedding reception. Plenty of homemade food and licquer pre-drinks were available for the guests. After dinner, it was time for the newlyweds to dance. And they did so accompanied by the upbeat music of traditional musicians. Right afterwards folklore music was succeeded by modern dance beats, turning the garden of the guesthouse into an endless dancefloor. The cocktails and shots served at the van surely did the job and provided guests with cheerfulness and energy until the early morning.
